Ministry to Children at Hope

The members of Hope Lutheran Church believe that Christian education is a vital element of the congregation’s ministry to children and families.  Several wonderful opportunities are available.

Our Weekday School Program of Christian Education is held during the months of September through May.  Classes for children in kindergarten through eighth grade are held each Wednesday afternoon, from 4:00-5:15 PM.  Our time together includes an after school snack, opening devotion, a Bible lesson and a variety of activities to reinforce the theme of the lesson.  Children study Old and New Testament Bible history.  In addition, children in grades six through eight study the six chief parts of Christian doctrine using Luther’s Small Catechism in preparation for the Rite of Confirmation.  All study materials are provided for the students.

During the year, we host a number of seasonal activities and special events for our children and their families.  Our goal is to strengthen Christian families and support parents in the Christian nurture of their children.

All our classes are taught by trained, experienced and dedicated Christian teachers.  Our teachers are excited to be able to share the Good News of God’s love in Jesus Christ with all children and families.  Parents and teachers form a partnership to facilitate the development of the children in their Christian faith and love for our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Interested children/families in our area are always most welcome to join any of our programs.  Church membership is not required to attend, and there is no cost to participate.  For further information, please feel to contact the church office at #906-544-2259.  We look forward to the privilege of serving your children and family! New students are most welcome to join us.  There is no cost.
